Wine in Black assortiment Best of Toskana

This beautiful version of Chianti Classico shows off Castelnuovo Berardenga territory, with notes of blackberry jam on the nose, then touches of lime tree and nutmegr. Iodine-brakish sip of nice density, with persistant and fruity-official return on the closure.

Petrignano is a new wine for Dievole, the result of the estate’s collaboration with Chilean soil specialist, Pedro Parra. It comes from a recently planted 15ha site between 300 and 330 metres above sea level, distinguished by an abundance of limestone near the surface. The nose is flinty and iron-speckled, giving way to sun-soaked wild berries. It balances the generous warmth of the south with freshness and long, chalky tannins, sneaking some vibrant acidity in there too.

Gambero Rosso

This wine has seen several name changes (from Il Toro to RomiTòro and now Romitorio). The Castello Romitorio 2021 Romitorio is a hearty, full-bodied red blend with the muscle and power to mimic the beautiful Sandro Chia drawing of a raging bull on the front label. Fundamentally, this wine shows an all-Maremma spirit with rich concentration, big fruit weight and a whole range of savory and black fruit aromas. This wine is a delight to drink; it has a soft texture and is just raring to go straight out of the gate. This is one of Italy's ultimate value wines.

A fresh and crunchy red with dark cherries, currants, crushed flowers and a little bit of chocolate. Medium- to full-bodied. So lively and bright with textured, chalky tannins. Attractive juiciness with cherries and red spice undertones. Mineral and savory with some salinity at the end.

Dark ruby red. On the nose there are fruity notes of plum, blackberry, violets and light spices. The palate has a great texture, is fresh and juicy, very drinkable, slightly loose knit on the finish.

The organic Cigliano di Sopra 2022 Chianti Classico is just beautiful with a clarity and quality of fruit that is simply spectacular. It is light and bright all at once. It hits all the high notes, and it shows a special transparency despite the warm vintage conditions. Your mouth will pucker thanks to the tart acidity. The style is slightly volatile or carbonic in character, but that's what adds so much vertical lift.

Matteo Vaccari says they were concerned about picking too late in 2022 and started harvest on 20 September. You feel that tension in the wine: it takes time and a vigorous swirl to coax out aromas of brushwood, green alpine herbs and, eventually, black cherry. On the palate there is surprising lightness and bounce for the vintage. Here, a mix of lean red and black currants is infused with sage. Very al dente tannins are just ripe but build with powdery texture. Aged in mostly used barriques.

Youthful mid ruby. A tiny bit stalky and reduced at first; with aeration, revealing deep cherry fruit. Juicy, sappy cherry fruit layered with sandy tannins on the palate. Long and elegant.

Linear and tight with blueberry, raspberry and some citrus character. Medium body, tight tannins and a refined, polished finish. From organically grown grapes.

Rich garnet. Currently still somewhat restrained on the nose, smells of ripe wild berries and red beet. On the palate balanced and gripping with a generous spicy progression, tightly woven tannins give support, with full drive, remains long.
